Hello from Redbird Arena. It's warm inside, but treacherous outside as Illinois State and Southern Illinois get ready to do battle at 1 p.m. The over/under estimate is 1,500 for those willing to brave the elements. Since many of you will be at home, fire away with questions.
Dan said the team came back in positive spirits and went back to work like they have all year. John Jones said you can't dwell much on last game because next game is most important.
I really think the team will be OK today. They knew they could have stolen an important road win but can't dwell on it. It is 31 minutes to tip and I'm serious maybe 40 fans here. Yikes!
ISU is better in post. Davante Drinkard is only size that SIU has and he's just more of a defensive presence. The Redbirds could exploit that today.
I definitely would be surprised if Lofton started. Hopefully, he learned a painful lesson that his actions really harmed the team. He has so much talent, but really it's come time to get into the team mode. If he can get on the same page, I'm really enthused about this season.
Hey, Buckeye Girl, how the Bungals doing?
Anthony Beane Jr. back in Redbird Arena where he shot many baskets when his dad was an assistant coach with ISU under Tim Jankovich. Anthony is a good kid and has enjoyed a really good soph season, although he was held scoreless on Thu at Wichita State. I know he would really like to play well today even if there's hardly anyone in stands.
Redbirds are in their silver uniforms today. I'm not really a big fan of those. What does everyone else think?
Two replacement officials today at Redbird Arena. David Hall and Terry Oglesby are no-shows. Sure weather related. ISU probably not upset Oglesby isn't here after he gave Zach Lofton a technical other day, which Lofton richly deserved.
Not sure where everyone went but game time.
