Welcome from Carver Arena where Illinois State meets Bradley in a 7:05 p.m. tip. Both teams are hoping to avoid Thursday at the Valley Tournament. ISU currently tied for third with UNI and Missouri State at 4-4, with Bradley a step behind at 3-5. So it's a big game. Fire away with your questions.
Mike Sanzere, Kelly Self and Terry Davis are tonight's officials. First time this year for Sanzere, I think
Really good field for Paradise Jam. For those who haven't seen includes LSU, Clemson, Seton Hall, Gardner Webb, Nevada, Old Dominion and Weber State. Nov. 21-24 in Virgin Islands
Uh, I sure hope Reggie has learned how not to pick up silly fouls. Not sure what gonna happen if Reggie and Samuel in foul trouble or foul out. I told Zeisloft he's next man up and he said if it comes to that he will do his best. YIKESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zach Lofton definitely has the talent to be a real difference maker. Unfortunately, it's been a tough go for him. When I talked to Zach last week, he said he puts more pressure on himself than anyone and he doesn't have a bad attitude. I really don't think he does, either, but he definitely didn't play hard at Indiana State for Dan Muller. Who knows if that message comes through. Hopefully for ISU, it does tonight. I still expect him to have a huge shooting night sometime. Better be soon.
Lemon is really playing at a high level right now. I want to see how he does against the 2-3 zone. ISU wants to keep him from driving and force him to shoot perimeter shots. Lemon has been making those lately but really that's the best strategy.
A slow arriving crowd. The top seats in the end zones don't have anyone up there. I'm expecting a crowd of about 8K. Unlike ISU, Bradley announces tickets sold, so it's always higher than what is in the building. Don't see many Bradley seats. I heard they haven't been coming here this year, but thought they would with ISU here. But when you're 8-13, students aren't making a great effort to get anywhere, especially with game on TV.
So far, so good. Reggie Lynch hasn't picked up a foul yet in warmups. Probably shouldn't jest about the situation.
Yes they have ... all season, in fact. Guys always come in before practice and then stay afterwards. They shoot extra free throws, too. I think after 20 games maybe they aren't as good of shooters as we thought. They have missed some wide-open looks in the past two games.
Wichita State has road games next week at Indiana State and UNI. If they win both of those, I would say they sweep the table.
Tony Wills has avg 21.5 minutes in the past 4 games. I agree, though. I really like how Tony plays. He's a long 6-3 with those arms and not afraid to take it inside. I really think he's going to be a key guy in the future. Good kid, too.
Marshall had his back turned when Muller was walking past, but Dan waited for him to turn around and shake hands. At Wichita, Marshall did not come down and shake the visiting coaches' hands as is customary before the game. Teams aren't shaking hands before the games this season. Not sure why that was stopped.
Far from a sellout here tonight. Looks about 6 or 7K. Wow
Thanks for the response tonight. Game on WTVP in Bloomington (Cable channel 13). Enjoy
