Working an election night is like waiting in line for a great ride at Universal or Disney; a lot of waiting for the excitement to build. And then....it's over. Well, maybe not tonight with the race for governor.
I am not an Illinois Native, I find it fascinating how the vote splits in this state. For example 4 years ago Pat Quinn wins governor but a Republican wins treasure. This year Governor is too close to call but Dick Durbin easily wins re-election in the senate.
With 31 percent of precincts reporting in McLean County (not including Bloomington), Rauner has 63% of vote vs. Quinn's 32%. Topinka up 2-1 vs. Simon for comptroller; Cross up 2-1 vs. Frerichs for treasurer. In 13th, Davis is up, 57% to Callis' 42%. Bloomington has no results yet.
